AgileByExample

Tim Ottinger

I’ve been writing production software since 1979 and have spent the past 40+ years evolving alongside the industry — from early systems programming to modern, agile development.

I’m the co-author of Clean Code and Agile in a Flash, and a long-time contributor to the software community through writing, speaking, and coaching. My mission has always been the same: help teams build better software and grow into high-performing, self-improving units.

I’ve led agile and technical transformations at scale, coached engineering organizations across industries, and helped developers adopt practices that make code cleaner, delivery faster, and teams stronger.

I believe leadership is about enabling others, aligning technical decisions with business goals, and creating a culture where learning and excellence thrive.
