5 ways to waste team's time on symptoms not root causes

Inspect and adapt are the core pillars of all agile methods of work. It’s easy to say, but more difficult to implement. Many times I’ve asked myself why some teams improve and even quickly and others don’t or they do it slowly. Of course it’s not about teams themselves but the way they work with improvements and the way they are supported by the leader, Scrum Master or Agile Coach. I’ll give you some examples from my own experience when teams wasted their time trying to solve fake problems. I'll tell you what I’ve learned from it and how to avoid focusing on symptoms not root causes. I’ll also show you why popular creative agile techniques used during retrospectives might be a trap that pulls you back from real problems.
